Considering that Jinja attracts a lot of tourists especially from Europe and the USA, FABIO offers bicycle rentals for two reasons:

Firstly, FABIO earns a little income that goes into their projects by 100%.

And secondly, bicycles are regarded as a symbol of backwardness and poverty while white tourists are still considered to be more developed and somehow superior by many Ugandans. Renting bicycles to tourists therefore contributes to a change of image of the bicycle in Jinja.
