Bicycle for Peace:

In partnership with Bread for the World Germany, Cycling our of Poverty Netherlands and Katakwi Urafiki Foundation, Fabio has improved quality of life for more than 400 families mostly living in refugee camps in Katakwi to protect themselves from the Karimojong by enabling them to acquire bicycles. Moreover, bicycle trainings ensures an efficient and sustainable use of the bicycles for peace and stability at household level.

Despite of increased access to information, social services and reduced labor burden by woman, bicycles in Katakwi have yielded positive results such as a reduced number of complications during women's pregnancy due to better access to hospitals by 78 percent.

Furthermore, bicycles increase security in refugee camps of Katakwi because they allow earlier warnings of impending Karimojong attacks.
